...Year of Projects Update...

I cannot remember the last time I wrote a YOP update on SUNDAY! Not yet in 2012 I am sure! I wish I had a super duper update but unfortunately, it is a small one again.

I did have a chance to work on the Special Occasion Scarf, which is a YOP item, towards the end of the week. At first, I wasn't really excited about it...something about fingering weight yarn and a lace pattern just was not appealing to me. But after I got going and somewhat memorized the pattern, I felt a lot better. (of course, watching Arrested Development probably helped some). Only had to rip back a couple times before I came to my senses and threw in a lifeline here and there. My goal is to be at the end of the skein by the end of this week.

A friend from high school is having a baby girl early next month and I did not have her present ready at the baby shower. EEK! I finally finished that up this week and am looking forward to sending it to her.

The pattern is Hospital Hat. I made one for A and really enjoyed the pattern. Funny story...my plan was to knit it all pink. Then I ran out of pink yarn RIGHT at the decreases. I REALLY did not want to buy a whole skein (what?! I didn't??) to finish it out. LIGHTBULB IDEA: I will turn it into a watermelon!! Well, a seedless watermelon...I wish I would have thought of this before then I would have added seeds! Oh well!

I am about half done with the project bag (ran out of yarn on this one too!) and am looking forward to finishing that up this week.

Thanks for checking in!

Made It Hap-Pin!

Welcome back to see how I made something from my Pinterest boards Hap-Pin! On Monday, I chose a pin from my "Me and the Hubs" Board. However, the project is not complete...I didn't make it Hap-Pin :(

BUT!

I found a pin from my "I have potential" board that was quick, easy AND will help me drink more water!

The original pin is a photo from Flickr...and I am not even sure who came up with the idea. Whoever, you are, THANKS!

I bought a 32 fl oz water bottle for $4 and labeled the times 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and Noon in 8 fl oz increments.

And on the other side, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00. This took maybe 5 minutes! I am loving this idea and HOPE it works for me!

Thanks for stopping by!

Made It Hap-Pin!

Well, I am quite late with everything I have made hap-pin the last few weeks...but I HAVE tried a few things.

First off, the orange citrusy cleaning concoction. It's...okay. I did not have as many citrus peels as suggested and I STRONGLY recommend having more than 3 ;) I am using it but it isn't very appealing smell wise.

...Still working on hanging up my hair dryer\straightener storage solution...

But last week was fun! A and I did a few things from a few websites I pinned for  kids his age (10 months).

First we played with a tub of water and toys.

Then, we painted!

I am trying to find a homemade fingerpaint of sorts that is safe in case he eats it. So far I have tried one made from hot water, flour, cold water, and food coloring. I could have messed it up (somehow?) but it was still quite chunky! A had fun for a little bit, but he preferred shaking the paper around. :0)

Please join the fun! Share how you made your pins hap-pin here:

...Year of Projects Update...

Sadly, I really do not have an update! My YOP list has been put aside as I have had requests, orders and gift knitting to do, which I LOVE!! :o)

...But here is a tiny update...

I have been s l o w l y working on the afghan for our room. I started the Moderne Log Cabin Pattern but was not really feeling it. So I have decided I am going to crochet instead. Just plain SC, solid stripes. Not sure if I will made them even or just go until I think I should change colors. :0)

Remember the Special Occasion Scarf? I am pulling it back out for an April KAL with From Robin's Nest Yarn. I have yet to work on it but am hoping to this week!

I am also working on a project bag (not part of my YOP) for Keep It Simple Swaps. I decided to crochet it instead of knitting. I have the bottom and almost one side completed. The pattern is the Paperless Grocery Bag.

Among gift knitting and starting to knit for a few craft shows this fall, my YOP list has been neglected. BUT! I think it will be helpful in making next year's list :0) Props to anyone who has completed close to or all of their YOP list!

Pick a Pin!

As always, I am late with posting last week's Made It Hap-Pin! I left the camera in the car and DH has taken it to work. Come back tonight for a few updates!

Let's see, what shall I pick this week? Perhaps something from my "Me and the Hubs" board. I am thinking "Date Night in a Jar" could be a lot of fun!

Jennifer, from Life in the Green House, came up with her concept and I think it is brilliant! This one might take all week to think of fun ideas, so if you have any, leave a comment and be sure to check out other's Pick a Pin Monday!
