...Drumroll Please...

Without further adieu, I bring you the February Lady Sweater:

Not my finest picture, but you aren't here to see me, just the sweater. :0) It still needs a button or two, which I have yet to pick out. I wore it today when I went into town to meet a friend. We of course went to our LYS and several ladies there gave me much reassurance and wonderful compliments, thank-you ladies at Athena Fibers!

Well, I did it! I knit my first sweater. I ENJOYED it...I think I might have to pick out my next pattern...

Sweater Update

On February 1st I shared a picture of this with you:

My goal was to knit the February Lady Sweater by March 1st. A seemingly daunting task as February is a short month. But I was up for the challenge.
Thankfully, many people kept excellent notes from when they knit the FLS! They helped me get through the yolk as it seemed a few people encountered trouble with number of stitches, etc.

You may remember I encountered SEVERAL nights of ripping. I looked forward to the evening hours because I could focus. Imagine how frustrating it was when at least 3 WHOLE evenings were spent ripping. Ugh. There was a moment where I considered throwing it and then stuffing it in a drawer so I would never have to look at it again.

But I made a goal and darn it, I was going to do it!!! Thanks to SO much encouragement from many YOP members, other bloggers, family, friends and an awesome hubby, I finished the body of the sweater Sunday the 26th.And could not WAIT to start the sleeves!!!

Now the question is, did I finish the sweater by today, March 1st?

HECK YES I DID!!!

YOP Update!

Plugging away at my FLS! My original goal was to have this done by March 1st, which means I have less than 2 weeks to finish it! EEK!!!
I should be further but I had a MAJOR setback. I was about this far and then realized the pattern was off. So I ripped out until I thought I found the mistake and started again. About an inch later, I realized I had not ripped back far enough. So I ripped AGAIN! Started back up and all was looking well, until I realized I lost a stitch somewhere. Ripped back a few more rows, found the stupid stitch, and FINALLY was ready to get going. Friday morning, I knit 2 inches and was back to where I started this whole mess.

ugh.

My goal is to have the body DONE by next Sunday, leaving me the final week to work the arms and bring it all together.

...Year of Projects...

Time for a Year of Projects Update!

In last week's post, I mentioned that I was starting the February Lady Sweater. My yarn arrived with impeccable timing...right on February 1st! I knit my swatch during A's nap and I cast on as soon as he went to bed for the night! I am 4 rows away from starting the eyelet increases and all is well so far. I am hoping to get to the increase this afternoon and maybe to the body by tonight?! Better quote me here, because as of right now, is is the only thing I want to do!! I get soo excited to work on it!

There is a small group of us at the 12 for Self group on Ravelry working on the FLS if you are interested in joining! We are officially kicking off Feb. 10th!

In other YOP news, I am working on the Moderne Log Cabin Afghan for our room. It doesn't look very exciting right now, so I will spare you the boring picture. I am about halfway through the first block.

I have no changes to my YOP list for January :o( I have a strong feeling this list will roll onto next year's YOP :o)

My First Sweater!

Look what arrived in the mail today:

My birthday present! I ordered 10 skeins of Knit Picks' Wool of the Andes in Chestnut for my first sweater. I chose the February Lady Sweater pattern, I am a tad intimidated... Thankfully, I have several people encouraging me along the way, and of course some chai tea and gummy bears will be helpful ;)

Already working on my swatch and hoping to CO tonight!!!
