Year of Projects

This is my first YOP post for 2012 and I haven't done anything off of my list due to knitting oodles of baby gifts!!

I knit an Owlie Sack and the matching Owlie Hat earlier this month for a friend to gift to her daycare provider. I've had a few pics of those sacks on here before so I didn't include a picture.

I am also working on the Munchin Hat for my sister-in-law. She is expecting a little girl the end of February! This is my first attempt at jogless strips too, so far so good, I think. I might make a pair of matching leg warmers too...
Here is where I need some advice. My grandma gifted me this yarn:
Katia
And she wants me to make one of those ruffle scarves. I am following this pattern and this is what I am getting:

For those of you who have made these types of scarves before, is that looking right? To me, the ruffles are looking too uniform and not as "sporadic" as the picture. Any thoughts?

Thanks for checking in!

  1. Bummer-as I don't have any advice for you on the ruffled scarf as I am pretty unfamiliar with that yarn. A co-worker of mine brought something very similar a few weeks ago to our knit night, and it was the first time I had ever seen something like that! Very interesting--maybe though, you just need to vary a bit in how much space you are leaving between stitches? It is lovely, regardless.
Every time you mention your Owlie Sacks I get excited for when my daughter might get pregnant again as I want to make one so badly! But since her girls are very close together, 26 months and 9 months, it is okay if she waits a bit!

  3. I haven't made the scarf in question but a bunch of the ladies I knit with have made it...and it looks like theirs so I'm going to go with the fact that it's correct. Just sayin'...

  5. Scarf looks good, but I can't tell from the picture if it's uniform or not. Lay it out so we can see it. Love the colors by the way. Your hat...adorable, pink and gray very nice.

  6. I like the idea of jogless stripes, I'm sure I heard someone talking about them in crochet too, I should look it up as it always annoys me that I don't know how to do it. Love the grey and pink very pretty.

My mum and Gran have made some of those scarves and it looks right to me?

  7. Your ruffled scarf looks perfect to me so far! I've made a couple. You can tug it here and there to open the ribbon up a bit more in places so it looks less uniform! You could also vary a bit where you start the next stitch. Pretty colours!

  9. I think the ruffled scarf looks great! It'll probably ruffle itself up more when you wear it and it's moving a bit.
